Relationships-pic-Maira

We could’ve been perfect,

But we weren’t at all –

You lived to party,

While I stayed at home.

You’re Nickelodeon,

And I am Fox Kids.

You talked too much,

When I wanted peace.

You were forgetful

And driving me mad,

Yet charming and funny –

You weren’t that bad.

We’re complete opposites

But at a faraway point,

On the line at infinity

Parallels join.

She’s hiding a secret

She’s hiding a secret –

A life-long mystery.

It lives inside-

A part of her history.

She was let down

And quit the show:

She won her fight,

When she let go.

insomniac pic

I am a vampire of the new millennium,

I am the queen of the whispers and drunks.

I rule the kingdom of parties,

While longing to walk in the sun.

Trust me,

I’m going to be fine

Without the shade

That brings another lie.

Those toxic accusations,

You made them up, but I forgive.

You slashed my skin,

Yet it is you I will outlive.

“Sweet mercy is nobility’s true badge”

– William Shakespeare

In my daydream, I have found

The universe, liberating my words,

Making me bounce on my toes,

Freeing the spark like a bird,

Riding the tidal wave of absurd,

Escaping mistakes of the past –

Evolving into my real self at last.

“Logic will get you from A to Z. Imagination will get you everywhere.” – Albert Einstein

Breaking the rules here a bit, but I am very busy these days. Still, Day 2 poem is here 🙂

My nominees for Day 2 are:

Can’t deal with the problem

Can’t deal with the problem,

Kicking and screaming,

Fingers clutched tightly,

I am pacing the floor.

Hating is bad,

And bad is what’s killing,

Draining the good

And painting in gore.

Dishonest, skilled cheaters,

They sprint the distance

From one hearth to hostel

And back for some more.

Anger is bad,

And bad is what’s willing

To turn dark the blameless

And start futile wars.

Part of their nature

Is playing the victim,

Pretending to grieve

While hiding a gun.

Rancour is bad,

And bad is what’s drilling

Through light-hearted laughter,

Destroying its core.

I hear screams in the night, and I wake up

I hear screams in the night, and I wake up –

It wasn’t a dream, so I crawl

To the light strip that comes from the kitchen;

I’m afraid, but I have to go on.

I don’t want to see but I am staring,

And it is hurting my soul like a knife,

Piercing through me, and I am forever

Feeling nothing, forever, I’m gone.

If it weren’t a sin, would I stand up?

And raise my hand higher than sun

To bruise you, and cut you, and make you

Feel the guilt for the things that you’ve done.

I am broken, but I am burning,

I will find an alternative way.

It is not my burden to carry,

Time is ruthless, you’ll feel it one day.

Somewhere, sometime on this planet,

Through mist and the midnight blue sun

At the end of one chapter, effulgent,

Lighting day will return that someone.

Crepuscular shadows are lurching,

Lulled by his adventurous gaze,

In retrospection no longer indulging,

She will greet tomorrow’s embrace.

She moves steadily, clad in new mettle

And engulfed in the splendour of life,

He is there, and together they’re walking

Past delirium and purposeless strife.

There is a death in every morning

There is a death in every morning

And there is light in every night

Tomorrow I’ll forget as always,

Today I see your image bright.

In every hope there is a moment

You lose yourself, consumed by pain,

I live to dream that special omen

Yet to wake up and die again.

Empty, no feelings, no reason to live –

That’s what you’re saying, but try to get this:

When one declares lies to be true,

He hurts so badly – they’re still coming through.

The more you’re running away from the light

Back to the darkness that’s creeping inside,

The more you’re dying and hitting the wall –

Now all is nothing, nothing at all.

The mask that you’re wearing – you think it can help?

Whatever behind it – run or you’re dead.

The person you think is caring the most

Is using your loneliness ‘till next comes across.

The pain that you’re nurturing, the poison you give –

They can’t be hidden – that’s what you keep.

Until you are better, when shades are destroyed,

I hope some time later, you’ll know where to go.
