Relationships-pic-Maira

We could’ve been perfect,

But we weren’t at all –

You lived to party,

While I stayed at home.

You’re Nickelodeon,

And I am Fox Kids.

You talked too much,

When I wanted peace.

You were forgetful

And driving me mad,

Yet charming and funny –

You weren’t that bad.

We’re complete opposites

But at a faraway point,

On the line at infinity

Parallels join.

She’s hiding a secret –

A life-long mystery.

It lives inside-

A part of her history.

She was let down

And quit the show:

She won her fight,

When she let go.

Somewhere, sometime on this planet,

Through mist and the midnight blue sun

At the end of one chapter, effulgent,

Lighting day will return that someone.

Crepuscular shadows are lurching,

Lulled by his adventurous gaze,

In retrospection no longer indulging,

She will greet tomorrow’s embrace.

She moves steadily, clad in new mettle

And engulfed in the splendour of life,

He is there, and together they’re walking

Past delirium and purposeless strife.

There is a death in every morning

There is a death in every morning

And there is light in every night

Tomorrow I’ll forget as always,

Today I see your image bright.

In every hope there is a moment

You lose yourself, consumed by pain,

I live to dream that special omen

Yet to wake up and die again.

Finally! After months of absence

Agnes decided to take the train home. No reason. A swift decision that was made by her heart rather than her brain. Intuition vs common sense.

Somehow her seat could be bookedĀ in advance, even though the enormous clock occupying the whole of the station’s ceiling disagreed, indicating fifteen minutes to departure.Ā Clock on the ceiling? HowĀ inconvenient.Ā She had to pass through the flashmob of zombies to get on the train. Their heads tilted back, mouths open and drooling – every single one of them starring wistfully at the gigantic clock.

Agnes made her way through luggage, beer bellies, a raven Scottish terrier (Hey there, cutie) and a pair of twin toddlers. She had never imagined that finding a tag with her name on it would be so difficult. At last she noticed it attached to the back of the window seat, but the real treat was waiting next to it.

It was a large box of Ben’s cookies.

No, just kidding.

It was a man in a black suit. Agnes asked him to let her through to her seat. He stood up politely, clutching a paper bag close to his chest. The raven Scottish terrier ran to him, barked once and retreated.

Half an hour later, Agnes dared to take a glance at him. Dark hazel eyes, full symmetrical lips and high cheekbones. He hadĀ the most handsome face in the whole world. No surprise there.

He was constantly checking his phones. Yes, he had two phones. Agnes glanced again.Ā He is playing Candy Crush. Level 495.Ā Slowpoke.Ā

He sighed heavilyĀ as if he read her mind, but it turned out it was his stop. She watched him leave. That suit fitted him perfectly.Ā Just like that he was gone from her life and that was it for Agnes and him before it even started.

The train began moving, and Agnes realised that he forgot his paper bag. She took it and at the same time the Scottish terrier came back. It jumped on the seat that used to be occupied by Agnes’ fictive star-crossed lover.

‘Do you want to know what’s inside?’ Agnes asked the dog and it wagged its tale in agreement.

She opened the bag.

Yes.

There were Ben’s cookies inside. Finally!

Empty, no feelings, no reason to live –

That’s what you’re saying, but try to get this:

When one declares lies to be true,

He hurts so badly – they’re still coming through.

The more you’re running away from the light

Back to the darkness that’s creeping inside,

The more you’re dying and hitting the wall –

Now all is nothing, nothing at all.

The mask that you’re wearing – you think it can help?

Whatever behind it – run or you’re dead.

The person you think is caring the most

Is using your loneliness ā€˜till next comes across.

The pain that you’re nurturing, the poison you give –

They can’t be hidden – that’s what you keep.

Until you are better, when shades are destroyed,

I hope some time later, you’ll know where to go.

In dreams you live the moments

That once can turn to life,

Those gorgeous sceneries that always

Live on inside your mind.

The fountains of the fantasy

And the whirlwinds of the dark

Create bewitching mysteries

Before they fall apart.

I wish there was a button

That could replay those scenes,

Imagining what could be,

Reliving all my dreams.

Now every time I wake up

I know what happens next –

Through obstacles and slow-downs

No more I need to guess.

The dreams became real moments –

They found the way to turn

Those gorgeous sceneries that always

Will keep you moving on.

Dear Lizzy,

I hope you are well. I am not completely sure that this letter will find you, but since you left for Hades, I don’t know how to reach you otherwise, and this also might be the safest way to contact you.

We miss you, Lizzy. Darren misses you.

Things are drastically changing here on Ares. The government calls it a virus. They lock people up, so we’re trying not to attract unnecessary attention. Love is not a virus, Lizzy. It’s a revelation. If only you stayed, you would’ve witnessed magic in the eyes of your son. Darren asks me about you everyday. How long do you want me to lie to him?

Who am I kidding? I am angry with you! I feel the heat flushing through my body when I think of how you left us. You are my older sister and I need you now more than ever, Lizzy. I need you to come back to Darren and give him the motherly love he yearns for, because, this new world, Lizzy, where love is ruling, it’s completely different from everything we’ve known before.

I remember feeling unfinished as if they forgot to install a vital piece into the machinery that is my body. I used to watch people from the porch; I suffered from insomnia and fatigue. I was lonely and didn’t even see it. Then that rebel came out of nowhere. They call her the skyey emancipator. You should’ve heard of her – I am sure that her influence reached as far to the corners of our system as Hades. Now I know the meaning of euphoria, racing pulse and a fluttering in the stomach, yet I still can’t risk showing my true feelings.

Darren goes to school everyday. He seems to be doing fine, but some of the kids continue to tease him because of his red hair. I tell him that his mother is the most beautiful redhead on the planet. He just laughs. I guess if Darren where a girl, he would appreciate this more.

On the serious note, I am a little scared for our future. The radio was disabled last night. The government’s spies are eavesdropping on phone and video calls. Life as we know it doesn’t exist anymore. Wherever the revolution leads the world, I strongly hope that at some point it would make us cross paths with you.

I wish for you to come back to your family, Lizzy.

Take care,

Faith
