Lack of sleep for days
Losing faith, does it exist –
Our connection?

They think they can say
Where I should be and when, so –
Fuck their stupid ways.

I have found something to be true
Something I have been suspecting,
However I try, it is hard to construe –
My fears no longer affect me.

It’s funny, because I cannot reach out
Time is beyond us
We’ve met only once;
Fleeting instances, barely a glance,
Find me, my lover, and let’s take a chance.
My second half – and I am yours
Wherever you are, I am mostly indoors
If you can feel me, give me a sign
A tug on my heart, two hearts will entwine.
I’ve known you before,
We’ve made a pact
To meet in this life and never look back.
Find me, my lover,
I am here by the sea,
Waiting for you
Under the old white oak tree.

We could’ve been perfect,
But we weren’t at all –
You lived to party,
While I stayed at home.
You’re Nickelodeon,
And I am Fox Kids.
You talked too much,
When I wanted peace.
You were forgetful
And driving me mad,
Yet charming and funny –
You weren’t that bad.
We’re complete opposites
But at a faraway point,
On the line at infinity
Parallels join.

Trust me,
I’m going to be fine
Without the shade
That brings another lie.
Those toxic accusations,
You made them up, but I forgive.
You slashed my skin,
Yet it is you I will outlive.

– William Shakespeare

In my daydream, I have found
The universe, liberating my words,
Making me bounce on my toes,
Freeing the spark like a bird,
Riding the tidal wave of absurd,
Escaping mistakes of the past –
Evolving into my real self at last.

The world is so big,
And how will I know
When I find that special
Match for my soul?
Is it your smile
Or the sound of your voice,
Your distinct cheekbones
That’ll leave me no choice?
How will I know
You’re not a mistake –
Are you a vision,
Or am I awake?
If we’ve met before,
You can meet me again,
Gravitate back towards me
And tell me your name.
In your embrace
We’ll exist out of time,
Together forever –
I am yours
And you’re mine.
“I will find you. In the farthest corner, I will find you.”
– Mary E. Pearson, The Kiss of Deception
I’d like to thank absolutely brilliant and inspiring Soraya Bakhbakhi for nominating me for this challenge. She truly is a gifted poet and just a wonderful person 🙂
